My husband's job brought us to GI in November. We stayed at the rv area. The staff was great! We felt very secure here with it being winter and only 1 other camper here. They have water and electric but the only downfall was no sewer or dump station. They did have the number for a guy with a honey wagon that would come out to empty your tanks for a small fee. We did not use any of the ranges since it was too cold but are planning to take a weekend vacation here again when it warms up!
Today (08-05-16) was my first visit to the park. I was very impressed. It's a spacious facility with a lot of areas available for different types of shooting disciplines. Shotgun, handgun and long gun. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. After today's visit I was definitely be purchasing a year long pass. It's well worth the cost of admission to have access to a safe place to shoot.
Amazing place and Home of the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championship...made my first trip this past summer for the Tournament and arrived a day early, so spent a day shooting the Sporting Clays Course...great course, very different from our home courses in Western NC...no hills or trees to speak of ...but very challenging and fun. Our NC 4-H teams did great and the whole week was Great!
Nice facility however they do not properly set targets or check them if conditions change.
